Okay, so that pacman joystick you see above has nothing to do with the show, but its pretty sweet! I wanted to show an image of that, as its one of the best pieces of "ms pacman merchandise" I've ever seen. I wish I grew up with such a cool joystick. Anyways, "Pacman the animated series" was produced by Hanna-Barbara productions, and only aired for a couple years in the early 1980s. How funny is that? Because it was so popular, the first episode featured a crazy amount of commercials, which was perhaps not the best way to launch the show. Or was it?
It was a success, but it was kind of short lived. Anyways the show was of course following the adventures of our main star, the PacMan. It also included his wife Mrs Pepper Pacman, and their baby which was known as the pacbaby. They had a couple pets, and lived in a place known as pacland. It centered around their ongoing battles with the ghosts, known as blinky, pinky, inky, and clyde. The enemy ghosts of pacman actually have a boss they deal with. He looks a lot like darth vader actually, which is hilarious. The mission of the pac people is to get the power pellets, which are the food of the community. You can tell they basically just wanted to make lots of money from the animated series. The story just isn't there, but nonetheless ms pacman is actually quite a fun show to watch, or game to play. |
